Overview
Slido is an app that can be accessed from within WebEx meetings, empowering polling and question and answer features - either created as-needed or prepared in advance. Enable question and answer features for participants with optional moderation. Highlight questions as you answer them, and then archive them to clean up your view. Create polls in the moment with multiple choice, word cloud, open text, ranking, rating, and survey configurations. The q&a and poll features are saved to your WebEx account. You can revisit them at the Slido website for review.
Prepare and Review
Navigate to slido.com. From the Slido website, select "Log In" in the upper right corner.
Select "Log in with Webex". Do not select "Log in with Google" or enter your email on this page.
Enter your ICOM email address and select "Sign In".
Enter your JumpCloud credentials and select "SSO Login".
You can select "+ New Slido" to create a Slido for use in WebEx, or you can select an existing Slido for review.
From within the Slido, you can create templates, create or review polls, and review questions and answers.
Creating a Slido
Select the "Apps" button in the right corner of the control bar along the bottom of the window.
Select "Slido (Polling and Q&A)". You may be prompted to select a Slido you have already created, or to name your new Slido, or to use the new version of Slido. We recommend using the latest version of Slido available.
Q&A
Select the "Q&A" tab along the top of the Slido app window. Select "Enable Q&A".
Participants can ask questions into your Slido from the WebEx meeting or from slido.com using the code and passcode generated for your Slido.
Select the "Review" tab below "Q&A". Select "Turn on moderation" to preview questions before they are posted to the live-feed in the "Live" tab for all participants to see.
When moderation is turned on, any questions will appear in the "Review" tab before going to the "Live" tab.
Far-side participants can enter their questions from the WebEx meeting into your Slido.
These questions can be submitted either named or anonymously, at the participant's discretion.
Participants will see that their question has been submitted and that it is currently waiting for review. They have the option to edit their question.
The participant question appears here in the "Review" tab. You can select either the green check to approve the question for the "Live" tab, or the red ex to reject the question. Other participants will not see rejected questions.
You can highlight a question in the "Live" tab to call attention to it and to address it directly. Select the blue arrow icon to highlight a question in the "Live" tab.
You can remove the highlight by selecting the green arrow icon.
When their question is highlighted in the "Live" tab, the participant will see the blue arrow icon on their question.
Select the green check in the circle icon to mark a question answered. You can select the circular arrow icon to mark a question unanswered to revisit it later.
Select the box with down-facing arrow icon to archive all questions in the "Live" tab. Select "Archive". These will be moved to the "Archive" tab below "Q&A".
Polling
Select the "Polls" tab along the top of the Slido app window. Choose the format of your poll.
You can customize your poll with multiple choice answers, an open question, or options to rank or rate.
Participants can answer the poll from the WebEx meeting. Unless otherwise specified, their answers will be anonymized.
Participants can watch the poll results in real time within the WebEx meeting. The presenter has the option to hide these results if they choose.
When you are finished with the poll, you can select the lock icon labeled "Close voting" to stop new answers from being submitted.
